Painted Kitchens

Hand Painted Kitchens

Our units are hand - painted to give a rustic charm not found in modern mass - produced kitchens.

Worktops and beech knobs are normally stained 'old Victorian pine' and sealed with a worktop oil or 'Danish oil', producing a warm contrast to the painted units. Clear or dark stains also - as required - usually finished on site after installation, at least 3/4 coats.

COLOURS

We recommend and use the 'Farrow & Ball' range of paints and will paint the colour of your choice, any colour.

PREPARATION

All units go through a thorough preparation and painting process.

The final painting is done after installation on site, units are usually prepared and undercoated before delivery.

  • Sanding and and rubbing down to remove all rough edges
  • Knotted, first undercoat / primer applied
  • Rub down and second undercoat where needed
  • Top coat, water based eggshell paint. At least two coats, 3rd. final coat includes a mix of clear varnish in paint to give additional protection
NOTE: With this style of kitchen the character of the wood is not all removed from the finish and minor imperfections will be seen - as opposed to modern laminated kitchens.Close
